A Path to Success
We all have our own path to success, and I am a firm believer that it is important to stay motivated and challenged in our own learning so we can continue to meet our professional goals.
Michigan State University's Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program and my experience in my current role has provided me with the knowledge, experience, and skills to become a leader in adult learning and development and to pursue a desired career in Instructional Design.

Reshaping My Own Thinking
A little over two years ago, I decided to use my passion and curiosity to my work as a Program Training Assistant and began a journey into educational technology by taking classes in Michigan State University’s Master of Arts Educational Technology (MAET) program. Throughout this program, I learned that technology enables real-time feedback, allowing us to adjust the pace of the learning, giving learners an opportunity to choose how they want to learn, and creating creators (Culatta, 2013).
Three courses in this program really made an impact on me and have inspired me to focus on using formative assessment and digital technologies in Sponsored Program Administration’s (SPA) training program to help encourage play, inquiry, and creativity.

Change in Professional Development
By consistently monitoring and managing my information diet, I can continue to develop my thinking and take a more creative approach to research and problem solving; something that is very important in training program development as technology rapidly progresses. Innovation, creativity, and adaptation are linked to questioning which can be incorporated using co-curriculum, creativity, innovation, and experiential education, and as technology increasingly becomes integrated into education and training, there will be a higher demand for more creative problem solving to guarantee effective knowledge transfer.
For me to be successful in my future goals, I will need to use practice and failure to provide me with the understanding that the end of the result of the training program is important prior to planning the curriculum for it.
